Aaron Yowell graaduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007. At UNC, Mr. Yowell was heavily involved in the Opera Theatre and Choir Departments. Aaron sang the lead role in the United States Premiere of Paris a nous deux. Mr. Yowell also performed 5 other leading roles while on campus. During his undergradute time, Aaron also developed his professional carrer by performing in 4 musicals. After graduating from college, Mr. Yowell taught 4 years of High School Choir and AP Music Theory. During his first four year, Aaron directed 6 musicals for his school and became the youngest chorus master for the Fort Collins Opera.
This year marks Mr. Yowell's 5th year at LPS. Over the last 4 years Aaron and the students developed the Royal Theatre Company, our in-house Performin Arts Company. In the last two years, the Royal Theatre Company has accrued 34 awards at the Regional and State level in One-Act Play Competitions. Leadership Prep School is home to the defending Regional Champions for TCSAAL One-Act Play and is the two-time State Runner-Up for the same competition.
While Mr. Yowell is not at LPS teaching, directing, and coaching, he can be found spending time with his beautfiul wife, working on his masters degree, or on stage with Comedy Sportz Dallas.
Last year, Mr. Yowell was voted by his colleagues as the campus Teacher of the Year. This August at the Texas Charter Schools Academic and Athletic League Coaches Conference, Aaron was recognized as "one of the state's premier theatre directors."
